- Take an interest in what they are doing but do not nag
- Listen to your child, respect their views and ideas.
- Criticise the behaviour not the child.
- Reassure your child frequently that you love them.
- Prevent boredom. Offer opportunities for interesting activities.
- Remember that you are their parent, not their best friend.
